The Kingdom

Listen to Theme 3 by John Murphy while reading this.

The haunting sounds reflect light onto doom. The violins chase the ghosts that look over you at night and tell you they are in fact figments of the imagination. The city is silent and no one exists. You look around and the only one there is yourself. Everyone that you have ever loved has disappeared. - 28 Weeks Later

While the film was beautiful to watch, the soundtrack is even more beautiful to listen to. So true, so silent, so physiologically disturbing but at the same time captivating. Our favorite track by John Murphy is 'London Deserted'. The ambient sounds, the simplicity, the minimalism used that satisfy the majority is so melancholy but satisfying. Sorrowful.

Listening to this soundtrack takes me back to childhood; oddly. The days I  played on the swing and built forts during the summer months at camp. Meeting new friends and making champion friendship bracelets to place them on. I would get lost in the hills for hours. Hundreds of memories are coming at me at once. // I look in the mirror, stare at my face and cover my eyes with my hands. We fast forward to now; 12 years later...
