Where Shall We Sit?

We spend eighty percent of our day sitting. On the phone talking to the same people, trying to close the came deals; just so we can enjoy the finer things in life like Rolex Submariner's and Daytona's. Well maybe that and some fresh vegetables from Dina and Deluca. But honestly, do you ever look in the mirror, pull your hair back, splash hot water on you face and begin questioning everything you have done thus far?

Wear: Rolex Daytona // Because You're So $$$ It

This weekend, we began indulging in our favorite red wine again and shopped. I tend to drink whites in the summer and to only decant in the fall. Our favorite red at the moment is from Saddlerock vineyard based out of Malibu, California.

Try: 2006 Saddlerock CABERNET SAUVIGNON

The seductive 2006 Saddlerock Cabernet will awaken your senses with its subtle balance of cherry, vanilla, and a touch of nutmeg.

Shop Rogan: The Fall /Winter 2008 collection is brilliant. Great minimal tee's that are ready to wear on any occasion.

And when nothing else makes sense and you begin questioning yourself over and over again, pick up your iPod and listen to: Bob Dylan's 'Blond On Blond' because I heard this album saves lives!

MGMT We're So Sorry!

It's not difficult to give a bad review to the MGMT show I attended last night. What should have been a one hour set of an album run through (hit after hit) was in fact a Led Zeppelin jam session of fifteen minute songs that made everyone and myself yawn. At least we got to see them in an intimate setting. My apologies to you if you're attending the Beck show Saturday night. Then again I may be the only person that thought last night's show was mediocre. LA shows should not be like Boston shows. LA = short attention span and a DUI after 12:15AM. Boston = smoke a joint, rock out to Zeppelin and use the public transport back to the BU dorms.

But we did enjoy our company and dinner at Katsuya before was fantastic.

K1LL3R

Have you ever been in a place where everyone around you accepts and understands you for who you are and what you contribute to society, but there is that one person that as hard as your try, as much as you care and as determined you become, will never and chooses to never understand?

We are listening to much sounds today and have come across some new artists I encourage you to download.

On the list:
You, Me and the Bourgeoisie by The Submarines
Out of Place by WAZ
Toothpaste Kisses by The Maccabees

Song of The Day:
Repetition Kills You by The Black Ghosts

And of course there is a symbolic meaning behind this track. To live your life and continuing to repeat each day like the last, to keep trying and never succeeding and to stay liner instead of going out there and giving it all a chance.
Well, so many people do and for that, repetition will kill you.

Tom Ford Hawkings Sunglasses

So here's the deal. Sean at Dior left word on my mobile yesterday mentioning that my cologne is sold out across the country. I was like, "You got to be kidding me." Only I would wear a scent that you can no longer buy. And of all things, it was sold out in Hawaii as well. WHAT!!!! Hawaii. Are surfers wearing Dior?

All in all, we're on a waiting list for Bois d’Argent:

Lost in Translation

Several years ago, I was stranded in Paris. Completely lost in direction until I realized that I wasn't actually in Paris at all, but listening to a track titled Paris by Friendly Fires. Their very anticipated debut was released several weeks ago and now currently on tour with another favorite, Lykke Li;  we just can't get enough.

TRUTH and LOVE in the CITY =//////

Ponder This:
A good friend of mine once quoted Josh Stutton's saying, "He who offends nothing love nothing." You meet people everyday; new faces, new personalities, new stories. Most importantly you learn about new environments and the ideologies of change. For some that is more difficult then others. This saying has a purpose and true love comes with honesty. And while some people fear the truth, it does exist.

Indulge In This:
We love Philip Stark however I am particularly over the Geisha "thing." From Katsuya to the Gramercy Park Hotel to 7 Years In Tibet, her face is haunting society.

Todays post is truly about beauty in architecture and  words. I have fallen in love with Ian Schrager's Gramercy Park Hotel in NYC. It represents exactly who we are in every detail. Between $600-$3000 a night, it's the ideal getaway. Here is our photo gallery:

Listen To This:
Of the all music I listen to on a daily basis I may just that "City" by Lo-Fi Fnk is one of the greatest songs I have listened to lately. You will definitely be seeing it on one of my mixes in the near future. Check it!

Sex With A Playmate

What would it be like having sex with an ex playmate?

I woke up this morning to be sitting at the kitchen table hearing about Lisa's story of running into Will Smith at the 4 Seasons yesterday (arrived via Maybech). After exchanging the "what's up", it was full throttle to the lounge where her producing parter then received a text from a playmate that he has been dating.

After politely dumping "Julie" he received a text later that afternoon while at the 4 Seasons which read, "What do you think about having sex with me tonight? No movie, no dinner, just some stress relieving love in the sack."  And while some of us may be appalled, I actually find it quite entertaining.

Across town resides another "two legged creature" who shares a mutual love in music, friendship and has an amazing personality. I am super excited to share smiles this evening. I love how unpredictable the universe can be. Never knowing what's going to happen next. You're so adorable!

Hang out here: 4 Seasons Beverly Hills

Drive This: 2009 Maybech convertible

Date This: Playmate of the Year

I mean how else would you travel? And more so, why live for anything less!

Vibrations and Color

Sound plays a very important part in our life. That and vision and sometimes touch however I want to share with you several of my favorite listening devices. This is 100% based on sound + style.

For past several years Dr. Dre + Interscope have been in creation with Monster to bring the Dre Beats Headphones. While my only experience with these have been at Interscope.. and we are still waiting for ours in the mail... You can feel the bass, really. Truly remarkable product.

Dre Beats - $350 - Apple or Best Buy

Bang & Olufsen A8 Headphones - $160 - B&O an Apple
Slim, chic and simple. Great sound and visually pleasing. Not the best for bass but B&O always does it right.
If you're going to buy the B&O's then wear these jeans with them. Because looking good is an overall package:

Finally... a devise to listen to all of this on:
Nokia MP3, phone, movie theatre, vacation, everything you could ever imagine.

RNC - VOTE 08

I'm watching the most amazing political speech in the history of politics. Seriously, it's brilliant. Speaking on the education level of 90 percent of America.

Sara is so persuasive and manipulative. Woah!
Monotone................

We look forward to SNL's interpretation of this!

Let It Rock

While Starbucks is shutting down their music business we are downloading...

Favorite of today is Kevin Rudolf's "Let It Rock" feat. Lil Wayne.

Over Cooked

My steak last night was horribly over cooked and while I continue telling myself that I will NEVER go to Cafe Med at Sunset Plaza again, I am starting to believe that every time I head east, my car is on autopilot and heads there. Let's not go into detail on my pervious experience which surmounted to a hour wait for my truffle pasta; oh so good though.

Here are some international looks we love.

And while standing in the mirror for hours looking at yourself, listen to this:

Because.. You should adore yourself!

Labor Day weekend consisted of great food, excellent company, a birthday for mom, music and a venturous hike with Tom:

I am still unsure why I continue breathing the toxic air illuminated by the reflections of harmony. Between the madness of reality and what is virtual, I listen. Every beat has a purpose. Every sound has a meaning. Every thing deserves a voice. Except for the valet man at Le Pain Quotidien who refused to park my SL560 because the top was down on a hot summer day. I told him to deal with it and walked away with the keys on the dash.

We can be so selective with what we say as being  human leaves this feeling of questions. Am I too serious? Am I too boring?

This time 3 years ago, I think I asked myself the same thing. Although then, I was living in a hill tribe in Sapa, Vietnam. A city of people who have no realization of what actually goes on in the world. A controlled society which independently governs, feeds and educates its own.

Now it's fighting traffic on the 405 and guzzling gas at 9 miles per gallon in my throwback Range Rover. But that's life. Different people breathing the same air. Last night was spent at Hear Music. Unfortunately, the sales clerk was the bearer of bad news, as they're going out of business. I'm assuming that the 2.6% of people who actually "buy" music, won't care.

45 minutes prior, I scowered the racks listening to over XX titles. I left with six.

UNKLE- "War Stories" (NIN meets Kascade) 2007:

&
Lykke Li - See previous review

The Faint - While ironically, they're on Oberst's label and both released a record on or around the same time... Not original. The same electronic computer voice singing throughout. After track 3 you want to throw the disc out the window. (2 out of 4 stars)
Although, the Does It Offend You Yeah? remix of The Geeks Were Right is GREAT!
Conner Oberst - Fantastic !
Maps - Electronic lullabies that may put you to sleep. Don't drive while listening.

Anisette is a new favorite hangout for us in Santa Monica. Imagine yourself at Pastis on 9th Av. in NY. That's all there is to say. I ate my steak frites and sipped my Bordeaux. The cheese plate was bitter and dessert was just sweet. The company was Jason; many laughs, way too many laughs.

The weekend ended at my mothers new home in Beverly Hills. We had drinks at The Avalon Hotel, across the street, a small boutique hotel which provides a intimate setting to relax and share what's on your mind.

We sang happy birthday and ate Sprinkles Cupcakes

oh yeah... and the hike with Tom... 5.6 miles up a mountain on a humid day with no Voss water in sight. Good times, very good times.
