In Reverse

"Tell me a secret you won't tell anyone else. 43 kilometers per hour and no where to go. Vietnam necklaces' and birds with wings that preach innocence. 2 characters, 3 names and 1 birthday. The afternoon was spent at the Santa Monica aquatic center aka El Matador beach - Tuesdays. Cheers to S.Pellegrino to say the least."

Prince on Crack.. Well Kinda

It finally arrived as a US release. Silverlake, CA native Sam Sparro's record was released today and it's everything we expected. Meet, Scissor Sisters vs. Prince vs. the 23rd century of beats, funk and confusion. Although his album cover is a Kanye West rip off; do not hate. Listen to: "Too Many Questions" and "Hot Mess." Our favorite track is "Pocket."

Summer time = fun music and very vibrant colors.

DANGER!

I like the 9 minute remix of course. Currently working on the Ron Herman After Dark 1 compilation. As I emailed Brett in flight to Paris on a buying trip for Spring 2009. I wrote him mentioning, "This is some ******-up ****!" I can't wait to share this you Winter 2008.

Today consisted of great meetings and an exchange at Fred Segal's (cuff links to KISS Trunk tee).
Do we like? Not sure but I have 7 days to exchange...

HOPE

Last night Alex and I ate Indian food. Hold on. Rephrase that. Last night Alex and I ate Indian food, discussed life in this city of hope and the meaning of being in relationships. What exactly is a friend to you? As you think about that, what exactly does being in a relationship mean? It's all subjective to say the least. You can be superficial by ignoring those all around you and the feelings you deeply have inside but in fact these feelings mean so much more and will surface in time. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending how you look at it, life is a revolving door of people, experiences, love, friendships and mistakes.

On a lighter note, we mixed a great DJ set for ourselves and I have decided to publish our playlist. In order from the beginning (intermission : dinner) to the end:

The Glass , Hearts Revolution, M83, These New Puritans, Patrick Wolf , Nirvana, Kanye West, NIN (remix), Paul Simon, Radiohead, Coldplay (remix), Holy Ghost, Mark Ronson, Lady Gaga (remix), The Frequency, James Taylor, The Beetles (love remix), Athlete, Spoon, Mercury Rev, Kasabian, Ratatat and Black Kids.

Simultaneously we viewed art films. Pictures do have a 1000 words.
Take me back to 1963 even if it's just for a minute.

Trust The Hype

\\You sit there aimlessly reading fashion magazines and straightening your hair. You stare at your gold skytops while listening to Walter Meego. My eyes are starting to bleed, my fingers can no longer type and scroll down to check out pictures from the Accidental Rhythm party 6//12..... Word of the day "Gnarly."

MARILYN AVENUE

Stadium southern rock//hardcore, great live show and a "killer" single no pun intended. "Tear The Walls" is a symbolic representation of the simple life, screaming lyrics vs. catchy courses that intertwine shredded guitars and anger that contradict-idly makes you want to smile. Marilyn Avenue is on the board to being the next band in its genre to break. EP is out now on iTunes.

8//59:AM

The smoke fills the room with a lavender scent as the artificial accents emerge from down the hall. We are on the road to creation here. Thursday night, Jason and I hosted our Accidental Rhythm digital release party at Gibson Guitar Showroom in Beverly Hills. The evening was perfect; a reconnection of friends, music and excitement which is sometimes necessary.

VLAZE TV joined us in documenting in the festivities, Shadowscene validated that pictures are worth a thousand words, TOMS introduced themselves to hundreds of new enthusiasts who are now familiar with their brand and Gibson, once again opened their doors allowing us to create an eclectic evening of sound and vision.

While the incense is still burning and beginning to transition into a headache, I am so happy that everything is in flight. This past Tuesday, Mighty Six Ninety was released across the states in record stores near you. This post punk rendition of anthems and melancholy dialect will seduce you into a trance of hooks and memorable choruses.

Life has an interesting way or repeating itself and this weekend will be spent acknowledging that things do happen for a reason.
